Prayers and Reflection<\/strong>
We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you.
Because by your holy Cross you have redeemed the world.
 
Consider the meeting of the Son and the Mother which took place on this journey. Jesus and Mary looked at each other, and their looks became as so many arrows to wound those hearts which loved each other so tenderly.

   \nMy most loving Jesus, by the sorrow you experienced in this meeting, grant me the grace of a truly devoted love for your most holy Mother. And you, my Queen, who was overwhelmed with sorrow, obtain for me by your intercession, a continual and tender remembrance of the Passion of your Son.\n\n

As the child\u2019s father and mother stood there wondering at the things that were being said about him. Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, \u201cYou see this child: he is destined for the fall and for the rising of many in Israel, destined to be a sign that is rejected – and a sword will pierce your own soul too – so that the secret thoughts of many may be laid bare.\u201d<\/p>\n
