Prayers and Reflection<\/strong>
We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you.
Because by your holy Cross you have redeemed the world.
 
Consider that those women wept with compassion at seeing Jesus in so pitiable a state, streaming with blood, as He walked along. But Jesus said to them, \u201cWeep not for me but for your children.\u201d

   \nMy Jesus, laden with sorrows, I weep for the offences that I have committed against you, because of the pains which they have deserved, and still more because of the displeasure which they have caused you, who have loved me so much. It is your love, more than the fear of hell, which causes me to weep for my sins.\n\n\n

I love you, Jesus,<\/strong> my love above all things.
I repent with my whole heart of having offended you. Never permit me to separate myself from you again. Grant that I may love you always,
and then do with me what you will.

Large numbers of people followed him, and of women who mourned and lamented for him. \u00b7But Jesus turned to them and said, \u201cDaughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep rather for yourselves and for your children. For the days will surely come when people will say, \u2018Happy are those who are barren, the wombs that have never borne, the breasts that have never suckled!\u2019 Then they will begin to say to the mountains, \u2018Fall on us!\u2019; to the hill, \u2018Cover us!\u2019 \u201cFor if men use the green wood like this, what will happen when it is dry?\u201d<\/P>\n\n
