Prayers and Reflection<\/strong>
We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you.
Because by your holy Cross you have redeemed the world.
 
Consider that Jesus, after being thrown on the Cross, extended His hands, and offered to His eternal Father the sacrifice of His life for our salvation. Those barbarians fastened Him with nails; and then, raising the Cross, left Him to die with anguish on that infamous gibbet.

  \nMy Jesus, loaded with contempt, nail my heart to your feet, that it may ever remain there to love you, and never more to leave you.\n\n\n

I love you, Jesus,<\/strong> my love above all things.
I repent with my whole heart of having offended you. Never permit me to separate myself from you again. Grant that I may love you always,

Above his head was placed the charge against him; it read: \u201cThis is Jesus, the King of the Jews.\u201d At the same time two robbers were crucified with him,\none on the right and one on the left. The passers-by jeered at him; they shook their heads and said, \u201cSo you would destroy the Temple and rebuild it in three days! Then save yourself! If you are God\u2019s son, come down from the cross!\u201d The chief priests with the scribes and elders mocked him in the same way. \u201cHe saved others,\u201d they said, \u201che cannot save himself. He is the king of Israel; let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
