We believe that Jesus died and rose again, and that it will be the same for those who have died in Jesus: God will bring them with him. We can tell you this from the Lord&#8217;s own teaching, that any of us who are left alive until the Lord\u2019s coming will not have any advantage over those who have died. At the trumpet of God, the voice of the archangel will call out the command and the Lord himself will come down from heaven; those who have died in Christ will be the first to rise, and then those of us who are still alive will be taken up in the clouds, together with them, to meet the Lord in the air. So we shall stay with the Lord for ever. With such thoughts as these you should comfort one another.<br>\n\n\n\n<br><b>A reading from Book of Revelation 7:9-12<\/b><br>\n\n<i>The rewarding of the saints<\/i><br><br>\n\nAfter that I saw a huge number, impossible to count, of people from every nation, race, tribe and language; they were standing in front of the throne and in front of the Lamb, dressed in white robes and holding palms in their hands. They shouted aloud, \u201cVictory to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!\u201d And all the angels who were standing in a circle around the throne, surrounding the elders and the four animals, prostrated themselves before the throne, and touched the ground with their foreheads, worshiping God with these words, \u201cAmen. Praise and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honour and power and strength to our God for ever and ever. Amen.\u201d\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">_________________________________________<\/p>\n\n\n\n<b>A Reading from the Gospel of St Matthew 11:25-30<\/B><br>\n<i>You have hidden these things from the wise and revealed them to little children<\/i><br><br>\n\nJesus exclaimed, \u201cI bless you, Father, Lord of heaven and of earth, for hiding these things from the learned and the clever and revealing them to mere children. Yes, Father, for that is what it pleased you to do. Everything has been entrusted to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, just as no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.\n\u201cCome to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest. Shoulder my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Yes, my yoke is easy and my burden light.\u201d<br><br>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Reading from the Gospel of St <strong>John 14:1-6<\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus said, \u201cDo not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God still, and trust in me. There are many rooms in my Father&#8217;s house; if there were not, I should have told you. I am going now to prepare a place for you, and after I have gone and prepared you a place, I shall return to take you with me; so that where I am you may be too. You know the way to the place where I am going.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thomas said, \u201cLord, we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way?\u201d&nbsp; Jesus said: \u201cI am the Way, the Truth and the Life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">_________________________________________<\/p>\n\n\n\n<b>We pray for all our dead<\/b><br><br>\n\nAlmighty Father,<br>\nwe commend to your eternal love<br>\nour loved ones who have died.<br>\nEmbrace them, Lord,<br>\nand keep them safe in your care.<br>\nMay they know your divine light<br>\nand glorify you for all eternity.<br>\nThrough Christ our Lord.
