2nd STATION – JESUS RECEIVES HIS CROSS

_________________________________________

Prayers and Reflection
We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you.
Because by your holy Cross you have redeemed the world.

Consider how Jesus, in making this journey with the Cross on His shoulders, thought of us, and offered for us to His Father the death He was about to undergo.

My most beloved Jesus! I embrace all the tribulations you hast destined for me until death. I beseech you, by the merits of the pain you suffered in carrying your Cross, to give me the necessary help to carry mine with perfect patience and resignation.

Our Father
Hail Mary
Glory be

I love you, Jesus, my love above all things.
I repent with my whole heart of having offended you. Never permit me to separate myself from you again. Grant that I may love you always,
and then do with me what you will.

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Scripture Reading: John 19:13-17

Hearing these words, Pilate had Jesus brought out, and seated himself on the chair of judgement at a place called the Pavement, in Hebrew Gabbatha. It was Passover Preparation Day, about the sixth hour. Pilate said to the Jews, “Here is your king.” “Take him away, take him away!” they said. “Crucify him!”. Pilate said, “Do you want me to crucify your king?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king except Caesar.” So in the end Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified. They then took charge of Jesus, and carrying his own cross he went out of the city to the place of the skull or, as it was called in Hebrew, Golgotha.

Next Station….. JESUS FALL FOR THE FIRST TIME BENEATH HIS CROSS
