4th STATION – JESUS MEETS HIS AFFLICTED MOTHER

_________________________________________

Prayers and Reflection
We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you.
Because by your holy Cross you have redeemed the world.

Consider the meeting of the Son and the Mother which took place on this journey. Jesus and Mary looked at each other, and their looks became as so many arrows to wound those hearts which loved each other so tenderly.

My most loving Jesus, by the sorrow you experienced in this meeting, grant me the grace of a truly devoted love for your most holy Mother. And you, my Queen, who was overwhelmed with sorrow, obtain for me by your intercession, a continual and tender remembrance of the Passion of your Son.

Our Father
Hail Mary
Glory be

I love you, Jesus, my love above all things.
I repent with my whole heart of having offended you. Never permit me to separate myself from you again. Grant that I may love you always,
and then do with me what you will.

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Scripture Reading: Luke 2:33 – 35

As the child’s father and mother stood there wondering at the things that were being said about him. Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, “You see this child: he is destined for the fall and for the rising of many in Israel, destined to be a sign that is rejected – and a sword will pierce your own soul too – so that the secret thoughts of many may be laid bare.”

Next Station.…. Simon of Cyrene carries the Cross
