9th STATION – JESUS FALLS THE THIRD TIME

_________________________________________

Prayers and Reflection
We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you.
Because by your holy Cross you have redeemed the world.

Consider the third fall of Jesus Christ. His weakness was extreme, and the cruelty of His executioners was excessive, who tried to hasten His steps when He had scarcely strength to move.

Ah, my outraged Jesus, by the merits of the weakness you didst suffer in going to Calvary, give me strength sufficient to conquer all human respect and all my wicked passions, which have led me to despise your friendship.

Our Father
Hail Mary
Glory be

I love you, Jesus, my love above all things.
I repent with my whole heart of having offended you. Never permit me to separate myself from you again. Grant that I may love you always,
and then do with me what you will.

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Scripture Reading: Lamentations 3:27-32

It is good for a man to bear the yoke
from youth onwards,
to sit in solitude and silence
when the Lord fastens it on him,
to put his lips to the dust
– perhaps there still is hope –
to offer his cheek to the striker,
to be overwhelmed with insults.
For the Lord does not reject mankind
for ever and ever.
If he has punished, he has compassion
so great is his kindness;
since he takes no pleasure in abasing
and afflicting the human race.

Next Station….. Jesus is stripped of his garments
