13th STATION – JESUS IS TAKEN DOWN FROM THE CROSS

_________________________________________

Prayers and Reflection
We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you.
Because by your holy Cross you have redeemed the world.

Consider that, Our Lord having expired, two of His disciples, Joseph and Nicodemus, took Him down from the Cross, and placed Him in the arms of His afflicted Mother, who received Him with unutterable tenderness, and pressed Him to her bosom.

O Mother of Sorrow, for the love of this Son, accept me for your servant and pray to Him for me. And you, my Redeemer, since you have died for me, permit me to love you; for I wish but you, and nothing more.

Our Father
Hail Mary
Glory be

I love you, Jesus, my love above all things.
I repent with my whole heart of having offended you. Never permit me to separate myself from you again. Grant that I may love you always,
and then do with me what you will.

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Scripture Reading: Luke 22: 66-71

When day broke there was a meeting of the elders of the people, attended by the chief priests and scribes. He was brought before their council, and they said to him, “If you are the Christ, tell us.” “If I tell you,” he replied “you will not believe me, and if I question you, you will not answer. But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the Power of God.” Then they all said, “So you are the Son of God then?” He answered: “It is you who say I am.” “What need of witnesses have we now?” they said. “We have heard it for ourselves from his own lips.” The whole assembly then rose, and they brought him before Pilate.

Next Station….. Jesus is placed in the tomb
