Daily Prayer 1
Prayerfulness is deeply a part of you: in body, mind and spirit.
———————————————————
Begin by saying:
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Act of saying sorry
Lord, you know I am not perfect.
I am so sorry for the times I have not be your loving child, and offended your goodness.
I am sorry for the times I have upset or hurt others.
Help me, Lord, to become perfect
– perfect in loving you and perfect in
loving all those around me.
I ask you this in the name of Jesus, our Lord. Amen.
Prayer of Love
Heavenly Father, I thank you for your great love,
that you have revealed to me in your Son, Jesus,
and have poured into my heart by the Holy Spirit.
Be close to me Father, and help me.
I ask you this in the name of Jesus, our Lord. Amen.

The letter of St Paul to the Romans 8:31-39
A hymn to God’s love
With God on our side who can be against. Since God did not spare his own Son, but gave him up to benefit us all, we may be certain, after such a gift, that he will not refuse anything he can give. Could anyone accuse those that God has chosen? When God acquits, could anyone condemn? Could Christ Jesus? No! He not only died for us – he rose from the dead, and there at God’s right hand he stands and pleads for us. Nothing therefore can come between us and the love of Christ, even if we are threatened or even attacked. – As scripture promised: For your sake we are being massacred daily, and reckoned as sheep for the slaughter. These are the trials through which we triumph, by the power of him who loved us. For I am certain of this: neither death nor life, no angel, no prince, nothing that exists, nothing still to come, not any power, or height or depth, nor any created thing, can ever come between us and the love of God made visible in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Psalm 120 – I lift up my eyes to the mountains; from where shall come my help?
I lift up my eyes to the mountains:
from where shall come my help?
My help shall come from the Lord
who made heaven and earth.
May he never allow you to stumble!
Let him sleep not, your guard.
No, he sleeps not nor slumbers,
Israel’s guard.
The Lord is your guard and your shade;
at your right side he stands.
By day the sun shall not smite you
nor the moon in the night.
The Lord will guard you from evil,
he will guard your soul.
The Lord will guard your going and coming
both now and for ever.
The Gospel of John 14:23-27
‘If anyone loves me he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we shall come to him and make our home with him. Those who do not love me do not keep my words. And my word is not my own: it is the word of the one who sent me. I have said these things to you while still with you; but the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all I have said to you. Peace I bequeath to you, my own peace I give you, a peace the world cannot give, this is my gift to you’.

Prayers of Intercession
Opening: God is tremendous and all God’s works are wonderful, so we pray with hope and trust.
- That people who search for the truth may find a deep and lasting faith in God, discovering the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as the source of all life and love. Lord, hear us.
- For those who suffer in mind or body. Through the Holy Spirit my they experience healing and peace. Lord, hear us.
- For all our loved ones who have died. Living in the presence of God may they rejoice and give glory and praise for ever more. Lord, hear us.
Our Father (The Lord’s Prayer) See (Matthew 6:9-13; Luke 11:2-4)
As children of the loving Father we say:
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed by thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
